Short Bio

Poncha is currently pursuing a Doctorate degree at École de technologie supérieure (ETS) University in Montreal, where he is engaged in cutting-edge research aimed at exploring innovative solutions to accelerate the performance of blockchain technology through the utilization of hardware advancements.

He received his Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Antalya Bilim University (ABU) in Antalya, Turkey in 2021. His academic background in this field was established with his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Middle East Technical University (METU) in Ankara, Turkey in 2017. Throughout his academic journey, he gained hands-on experience through his work as a Research Assistant at both METU and ABU in the IoT lab, the Neuroscience lab, and WISLAB where he was involved in exploring innovations in wireless communications, security, and sensing.

With a strong passion for his research field, he have made numerous contributions to the industry by authoring several articles in journals, conference papers, and book chapters. In addition to academic and professional pursuits, he is also actively involved in various student organizations. He serves as the Director of Marketing for the IEEE student branch in Montreal (2022-2023) and the president of the Congrès annuel des étudiantes et étudiants chercheurs de l'ÉTS (CAéc) (2023-2025). In his free time, he enjoy participating in numerous sporting activities such as Basketball, volleyball, badminton, and table tennis.

  • December 2024: Presented a secure hardware architecture for the SECP256K1 cryptographic algorithm at HASP@MICRO in Austin, Texas, with a focus on side-channel attack resistance for cryptocurrency applications.

  • June 2024: Hardware wallet patent filed at the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

  • October 2022: Started internship at Quantum eMotions Inc.

  • April 2021: Patent submitted for a proposed technology titled "A Nonorthogonal Multiuser Downlink Transmission Method Using Auxiliary Signal Superposition", designed to achieve perfect network secrecy, enhanced reliability, and low-complexity reception for IoT devices in massive Machine-Type Communications (mMTC) scenarios.

  • April 2021: Patent submitted for a proposed technology titled "OFDM-Based Multi-Cell Transmission Using Artificial Signal Injection", aimed at achieving perfect secrecy in wireless communications.

  • April 2021: Our paper on "Hybrid MIMO: A New Transmission Method for Simultaneously Achieving Spatial Multiplexing and Diversity Gains in MIMO Systems" was accepted to the RS Open Journal on Innovative Communication Technologies.
